WHAT
WE DO
VOLUNTEERS
NEEDED
Volunteers are the heart and soul of our community. Our work here is fulfilling and beneficial to both nature and the volunteers who work to improve and maintain this facility.
If you would like to volunteer at this beautiful museum and nature center, please call Connie the Canoe Lady, and get started today.
PROGRAMS & PROJECTS
We labor for love of life along the Great Ogeechee River.
You can help us make every effort to protect the environment and promote the beauty of the Savannah-Ogeechee Canal to the local community and visitors alike.
Wildlife
Conservation
Cherishing our wildlife is a priority at the canal. Please observe but do not disturb.
Early Education
We work with Scouting groups and encourage young people to pursue ecological responsibility and stewardship. We also provide frequent, family friendly social media content.
Tent
Camping
Our camp grounds are terrific. Sturdy shelters and well maintained bathrooms make tent camping easy.
The scouts love us!
Stop Wildlife Crime
Too often we hear reports of poaching and plunder of our natural resources. Stand with your neighbors in protecting the precious animals that share our home on the Great Ogeechee River.
Marine Conservation
The marine environment is continually under threat from pollution by irresponsible persons. Fish kills and dumping are unacceptable. We will continue the fight to protect our marine animals and promote responsible aquaculture on the Ogeechee River.
